Jerry Weinstein Award

The Jerry Weinstein Memorial Award is presented each year to individuals who exemplify commitment, dedication and extraordinary achievement in support of Glenbard South’s students and community as demonstrated by the late Jerry Weinstein, South’s first Boosters President.  Winners are honored at halftime of a varsity football game, and their names are inscribed on a plaque in the halls of the high school.

2023 Jerry Weinstein Award Recipients: Mark and Martha Pfefferman

For 35 years, the Weinstein Awards, named after South’s first Booster’s President, the late Jerry Weinstein, have been presented annually to individuals who exemplify commitment, dedication, and extraordinary achievement in support of Glenbard South’s students and community. We are thrilled to honor two beloved members of the Raider family, Mr. Mark Pfefferman and Mrs. Martha Loomis Pfefferman.

Mark and Martha have generously supported Glenbard South in multiple capacities. They served as co-presidents of the Booster’s from 2016-2018 and Mark served as Secretary for one year. During their tenure, they overhauled and updated the Booster’s website, established the Booster’s social media presence, opened the online Raider Wear store, and streamlined the nomination process and record-keeping for the Weinstein award. In addition to serving as co-presidents, they chaired numerous Booster’s committees including restaurant nights, scholarship, senior showcase, social media, and buy a brick, to name just a few, and Martha somehow found time to be a baseball mom! Importantly, we want to note that Mark and Martha are proud alumni of Glenbard South who continue to give back to the school to this day, despite their last child graduating in 2020! Mark and Martha truly exemplify Raider Pride and we are thankful for their service and important contributions to the Raider family.

Raider Nation salutes you!
